Joe Tyler is a directionless thirty two year old man. Ridiculously innocent and charming, Joe spends his time working a dead end job at Auto Zone. Bitten with the demolition derby bug in high school, Joe has spent every summer with his buddies, driving to county fairs, in hopes of becoming the best driver in the state of Texas. He lives with his high school sweetheart, Katie. Although Joe is deeply in love with Katie, he has yet to ask for her hand in marriage. However, with Katie becoming restless, Joe doesn’t realize that his passion for cars is threatening to destroy their lifelong love affair.
The word “Go,” is all it takes for hundreds of demolition derby fans to jump to their feet and root for their favorite car. The winner is literally the last car standing, or in this case, running….
A feature film on demolition derby would capitalize on the sport’s tremendous worldwide appeal. A loud and exciting film of this magnitude would draw upon a large fan base from every aspect of the car industry, from NASCAR to Hot Rods, from monster trucks to motocross. It would even attract non-car lovers who are looking to experience an exciting aspect of American culture from the inside.
A feature film on demolition derby would be American Graffiti meets Days of Thunder and The Fast and the Furious. It would offer an exciting first-look into an adrenaline-filled sport that is sweeping the nation, and the world. |
